Why Revival?

“If I shut up the heavens that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin, and I will heal their land.” —2 Chronicals 7:13-14

“Revival is a time when Heaven comes closer to earth. It is when the Glory of God again becomes visible in the lives of men, women, families, churches and the community.”—Francois Carr, Heart Cry for Revival, So. Africa

“A revival is when Almighty God reigns and pours out His presence. He ministers conviction, holiness, cleansing, restoration, and empowerment to His people so that He can use them fruitfully.  It is not evangelism, but souls will be saved. It is not discipleship, but it causes a hunger to be aroused for spiritual growth. Revival is when God blows His breath of life into  a person or church and gives a fresh awareness and anointing of His presence and Holy Spirit.” —Mark D. Partin, “The Forty Day Reign of God”

Revival is so important because everywhere we look we see the impact of sin on the lives of people, families, churches and communities.  The good news is that any born again Christian can experience personal revival.

“Submit yourself therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw night to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts ye double minded.” —James 4:7-8

It is possible to cultivate revival by seeking God as the Bible says. The only answer to our situation in our lives, our homes, our churches, and especially our country, is a revival from God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

G. Campbell Morgan said, “We cannot organize revival, but we can set our sails to catch the wind from heaven when God chooses to blow upon his people again.”
